GSAPP China Summer Workshop 2009


Attention All First and Second Year GSAPP Students!


Apply for this year’s Summer Workshop in Beijing, China – June 15–July 10.


PROGRAM
The four-week workshop will take place in Beijing, China, and will build on a number of research topics on large-scale development established during the previous China workshops as well as expand into new territories of urban investigation.


RESEARCH
a. Catalog urban development typologies.
b. In-depth fieldwork on several Beijing communities.
c. Mapping relationships of community-scale and urban-scale infrastructure and services (including GIS).
d. Diagrammatic analysis of large-scale development: spatial, demographic, social, political dynamics.


ELIGIBILTY
This opportunity is available for First and Second Year students ONLY.


FUNDING
Funding for air travel to and from Beijing as well as housing will be provided by GSAPP for a limited number of students.


APPLICATION
A presentation outlining the expectations of the workshop, previous workshop processes, and potential strategies will be held on April 13, in Room 114, 1:00 pm. ALL INTERESTED STUDENTS MUST ATTEND.
